Getting Around Saskatoon
Buses, the airport, winter roads and the on-demand option - what to know before you move across the Bridge City.
Buses first
Saskatoon Transit's buses are the backbone of getting around, crossing the river between the east and west sides throughout the day. The routes and schedules page covers every route, and the trip planner maps a door-to-door trip. Fares are cheapest on a reloadable card, and passes suit anyone riding most days.
On-demand in the gaps
Some parts of the city sit beyond frequent bus service, and that is where OnDemand Transit fits in. You book a shared ride instead of waiting for a scheduled bus. It runs in select areas only, so confirm your address falls inside a service zone before counting on it.
Winter changes the math
Snow slows city buses and closes highways, sometimes on the same day. The provincial Highway Hotline road conditions map is the fastest way to check what the roads out of town look like before you leave. In the city, expect longer trips on the worst days and build the time in.
Arriving by air
Saskatoon's John G. Diefenbaker Airport handles flights in and out of the city, and it sits close enough to downtown that a taxi or rideshare ride is usually short. Check the airport site for flight status and parking before you head out. Locals know it by its code, YXE.
