The riverbank does the hosting

Summer in Saskatoon happens along the South Saskatchewan River. Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan stages plays on the riverbank, and the Saskatchewan Jazz Festival spreads across venues in early summer. Both run on tight summer windows, so check the dates before you plan anything else around them.

Fairs and neighbourhood festivals

The Saskatoon EX takes over Prairieland Park in August with rides, concerts and exhibits. Folkfest turns community halls into cultural pavilions for a weekend each year. Both draw crowds from across the city, so buy tickets ahead where you can.

Eating and shopping local

The Saskatoon Farmers' Market runs year-round, with the full vendor lineup on Saturdays and Sundays. It is a good first stop for local food and for seeing the whole city out in one place. Arrive early in summer if you want first pick of the produce.
